AutoPilot alpha released!

Following up on our original AutoPilot announcement, we’re pleased to announce that we have just released a development snapshot of AutoPilot on drupal.org.

This release represents the first milestone along our change management roadmap, and provides a tool for developers to roll out changes between development, staging, and production servers.

Later this year we will be releasing additional features based on user feedback and our own roadmap. We will continue to refine the product as well as documentation with regards to the installation process as well as our best practice surrounding effective Drupal build management.

Suggestions and comments are, as always, welcome.

Backport to 4.7.6

Guys, terrific work! As much as we love Drupal, site migration has been a beast to handle and we’re still running 4.7.6. How much effort would it take to backport Autopilot from 5.1 to 4.7?

runbuild.sh missing

In the README files it mentions “bin/runbuild.sh - the build script itself.”, but that file is not currently in the tarball available for download at Drupal.org.

Is this missing file needed?

Hoping for a screencast soon!

It’d be lovely if you uploaded somewhere a screencast showing AutoPilot features, do you think it’s possible?

Thanks for the kind

Thanks for the kind words!

AutoPilot itself needs to run on Drupal 5.1 (or preferably 5.2). Currently it needs to live in its own drupal install.

However, it should be able to deploy 4.7 sites just as readily.

Updated CVS

So it looks like some glitches in the commit. Apologies, folks. I’ve updated Drupal CVS and the missing files will go into tonight’s development snapshot.

Absolutely! Better yet, we

Absolutely!

Better yet, we are planning on documenting far more extensively, and will be offering up the screencast with installation instructions as well as general use of the platform.

runbuild.sh missing

Thank you for your kindness and warmth that you gave me. You helped to see the very essence of the problem - and it is sometimes very difficult to win it.. me free from my microsoft exam questions. They helped open my eyes and see yourself on the other hand, open up the world. With your help I learned to pay attention to the little things that surround us, and enjoy it. With your help I learned to pay attention to the little things that surround us, and enjoy it.
