APIs & Cloud Computing

Here's a question that's given me a lot of trouble. I have Joyent, a company that is largely based on Open Solaris, claiming to be a Cloud Provider.

Here's the problem: Joyent does not provide an API. Or if they do, I can't find it.

Joyent has a list up that talks about what they think makes up a cloud provider: read more »

Virtualization Layer Network Stability

Introducing WorkHabit's Elastic2: Drupal, Clouds, and Managed Services

For the last few months here at WorkHabit we've been busily creating a new kind of hosting platform. We've taken our expertise in scaling, hosting, and managing Drupal web sites and and layered that on top of cloud computing. Our efforts have resulted in an auto-scaling web server cluster built in the cloud. And it's fully managed, from top to bottom, including the OS, the database, Drupal itself, and even your application. read more »
